Monitoring Tag: An Indicator of High-Risk Tokens
The Monitoring Tag is a label used by Binance to indicate higher volatility, risk, and the potential for delisting. It does not mean that an asset will definitely be delisted, but reminds users to conduct thorough research and carefully assess the risks before participating.
What Is the Monitoring Tag
The Monitoring Tag identifies cryptocurrencies with higher volatility and risk compared with other listed tokens. The relevant notice is displayed on Binance Spot, Binance Margin, and market overview pages. Tagged tokens are subject to heightened scrutiny and may face delisting if they fail to continuously meet listing standards.
How Is the Tag Evaluated
Binance regularly reviews whether to add, retain, or remove the tag. Factors considered include team commitment, development quality, trading volume and liquidity, network security, community communications, due diligence responsiveness, and regulatory compliance. Binance also considers fraud or gross negligence, changes to token supply and tokenomics, and changes in the team or ownership.
How Should Beginners Understand It
The Monitoring Tag is a risk warning, not a judgment on returns or a delisting timetable. It indicates that a project’s status may change. Users should not make decisions based solely on the tag name; before engaging with the relevant asset, they should independently understand the project’s progress, liquidity, token supply, and team changes, and assess whether they can tolerate substantial volatility and potential delisting risk.
