B-Token: Wrapped tokens for cross-chain use of assets
B-Token is Binance’s name for a series of fully collateralized wrapped tokens, used to enable the transfer and use of underlying assets in compatible form on other blockchains.
B-Token How it works
After users deliver the underlying assets, Binance holds them as collateral and, based on the amount of assets provided, mints the corresponding 1:1 at a ratio of:.B-Token Users can exchange the B-Token back for the underlying collateral; full collateralization and redemption mechanisms maintain the correspondence between the two.
Why wrapping is needed
Different blockchains use different token standards. For example, on Ethereum,ERC-20-form ETH cannot be directly used for staking on the BNB Smart Chain, so it must be bridged and wrapped into B-Token compatible with the target network’s standard before it can be transferred or used on the target chain.
