Binance AI Agent Skills Getting Started: Features, Permissions, and Security
This article introduces the four types of AI agent capabilities in the Binance Skills Center, helping beginners distinguish public data queries, futures and margin operations, wallet management, and their permission requirements. Features involving real assets carry higher risks; first verify the API permissions, network, and whitelist settings, and have the user confirm critical operations.
Four Skill Types and Access Requirements
The Alpha skill is used to query public data such as lists of early-stage DeFi tokens, candlestick charts, and 24-hour statistics, without requiring an API API key. Derivatives, margin trading, and asset skills involve account data or fund operations and require configuring an API key with the corresponding permissions, while restricting trusted API API keys IP。
Differences Between Derivatives and Margin Trading
The derivatives skill is designed for Ⓢ-M Futures. It can query funding rates, mark prices, and open interest, as well as place orders and manage positions; its testnet can be used to practice with virtual funds. Margin trading involves borrowing assets against collateral and supports cross-margin or isolated-margin modes. Interest and liquidation risks require continuous monitoring.
Asset Skills and Wallet Operations
The asset skill can query spot and funding account balances, deposit addresses, fees, and deposit and withdrawal records, and may also execute withdrawals or account settings. Before transferring funds, verify that the asset and network match. When withdrawal permissions are enabled, also configure a IP whitelist and an address whitelist to reduce losses caused by API key leakage.
Security Boundaries for Automated Operations
API API keys should never be shared in plaintext and should be granted only the permissions required to complete the task. Futures strategies should first be tested on the testnet; critical actions such as live order placement and withdrawals should retain human confirmation. Margin and asset features support only the mainnet, making it even more important to set stop-losses, control leverage, and avoid calling the API too frequently.
