Delta Neutral Learning Guide
Delta Neutral By offsetting positive and negative delta delta, the impact of directional changes in asset prices on the value of the overall position is reduced, but this does not mean there is no risk.
Core Concepts
Delta neutral is a strategy for reducing directional price exposure: when the price of the underlying asset rises or falls slightly, the value of the overall position should not change significantly. Delta measures the impact of changes in the underlying price on the value of the position, and a net delta delta close to zero indicates that the long and short impacts largely offset each other.
Basic Implementation Methods
Positions that profit when prices rise have positive delta delta, while positions that profit when prices fall have negative delta delta. In practice, an asset holding can be combined with an opposite position of a similar size, such as pairing it with a short futures position, so that the impact of a price movement on one side is largely offset by the other.
