October 15, the Nikkei 225 Index closed down 4.90%, South Korea’s KOSPI closed down 7.56%, falling more than 9%intraday and triggering the circuit breaker for the tenth time this year. The decline narrowed somewhat after South Korea’s financial regulators held an emergency meeting in the afternoon.
