PANews, citing a Bloomberg report, stated that 10-year government bond yields in the US, UK, and France have risen recently, and that bond-market sell-offs are raising government borrowing costs.
Bloomberg columnist John Authers said that long-term government bond yields in major global economies have risen to highs not seen in decades, while Japan’s 10-year government bond yield reached a 30-year high. If yields continue to rise rapidly, this could increase pressure on fiscal and highly leveraged sectors.
