HKEX Chief Executive Officer Bonnie Y. Chan stated that HKEX is actively studying the extension of after-hours trading hours for derivatives and will lead market discussions on extending stock market trading hours.
Ashley Alder, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong SFC, said that it is studying an extension of securities trading hours, with plans to initially implement it in the derivatives market. HKEX plans to publish a discussion paper in the fourth quarter on extending trading hours in the cash market and advance T+1 settlement arrangements.
Julia Leung, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, said that Hong Kong is studying an extension of securities trading hours, to be introduced first in the derivatives market; HKEX plans to publish a consultation paper on arrangements for the cash market in the fourth quarter.
