AlphaThe earliest runnable stage in the software release lifecycle, used for internal testing, identifying major issues, and collecting feedback for improvement.
DAppsAn application that runs on a peer-to-peer computer network rather than relying on a central database.
EVMEthereum Virtual Machine; networks compatible with it can run Ethereum-style smart contract applications.
Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)A virtual machine running on Ethereum network nodes, used to execute smart contracts.
JavaScriptPWA One of the commonly used web technologies, it helps web applications provide more functionality and richer runtime capabilities.
OP_RETURN OpcodeAn opcode used to attach additional data to Bitcoin transactions; the Runes protocol uses it to record token-related information.
ORC-20A token format running on the Bitcoin blockchain, inscribed on satoshis as a JSON file and similar to BRC-20.
SidechainsAn independent blockchain that runs in parallel to the main chain and connects to it via a bridge, while having its own consensus mechanism and security model.
VMAn abbreviation for Virtual Machine, referring to a virtual computer capable of running an operating system, files, and applications.
benchmarkingRunning a set of tests or programs under controlled conditions and comparing the relative performance of hardware or software against established benchmarks.
child chainsA smaller chain built on top of the main chain that can run customized smart contracts and process specific tasks according to predefined rules.
sandboxA virtual space used to isolate code from the rest of the system, suitable for testing software or running potentially harmful code.
sidechainsA blockchain that runs in parallel with the main network and interacts with it through a two-way connection.
MetaverseA continuously running online 3D virtual environment where users can work, play games, and engage in virtual social interaction.
Decentralized Application (DApp)An application that runs on a computer-to-computer (C2C) network rather than a centralized database, to which users can connect using cryptocurrency wallets.
Decentralized application (DApp)An application that runs on blockchain and smart contracts, which can be used to build user-facing AI agent services.
FirmwareLow-level software running on a hardware wallet device, which the manufacturer can update to improve its security and functionality.
Open mintingA method by which anyone can generate new runes by creating a mint transaction after etching is complete.
Mining nodeA node that runs mining software, typically using specialized hardware to compete for block rewards.
EfficiencyMeasures the runtime and computational resources required for an algorithm to complete a task.
Data pruningThe process by which nodes modify or remove witness data in transaction blocks.
Bitcoin RunesA protocol for creating fungible tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Node OperatorA participant responsible for running machines that validate blockchain transactions and deciding whether to upgrade the system when the protocol changes.
EtchingThe process of creating a new Rune and recording parameters such as its name, supply, and divisibility.
Software walletA wallet that runs as software; common types include web wallets, desktop wallets, and mobile wallets.
Lightweight walletA wallet that does not run its own full node and typically relies on external servers to query balances.
