Perplexity open-sources SPACE sandbox platform, supporting AI operation in isolated micro virtual machines
Perplexity has open-sourced a Firecracker-based SPACE sandbox platform, allowing AI to obtain root privileges within isolated virtual machines while keeping secret management and external network access outside the virtual machines. Perplexity said it creates millions of sandboxes daily, with median creation latency reduced to 60 milliseconds.
