Scott Walker

Scott Walker is the Chief Compliance Officer at Andreessen Horowitz, responsible for the firm's regulatory compliance. He previously served at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a Senior Special Examiner and Counsel for blockchain technology, co-led the Division of Examinations' Digital Asset Specialized Working Group, and served as the division's representative at FinHub. He also held positions in the Division of Corporation Finance and the Investment Adviser and Investment Company Examination Program. Before serving in regulatory roles, he worked in private fund regulation and hedge fund strategies. He was a Vice President and Counsel at BlackRock, responsible for derivatives, prime brokerage, and securities financing transactions. He co-teaches courses on securities and blockchain technology at Columbia Law School. He holds a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Butler University, and is admitted to the California bar.
