BEP-682Used to reject duplicate validator counting in cross-chain signature verification, ensuring that the signature threshold is met by a sufficient number of genuine validators.
Gas feeThe on-chain transaction fee paid by the user in BNB is used to compensate validators for processing and confirming the transaction.
PoSAProof of Staked Authority is BSC’s consensus mechanism; validators participate in block validation by staking BNB and earn transaction fees.
Proof of StakeA consensus mechanism in which validators lock up tokens to help secure the network and validate blocks.
Proof of Stake (PoS)A consensus mechanism that rewards block validation based on the amount of tokens staked by validators.
deterministic finalityIt means that once a designated group of validators has signed the transaction, the protocol rules no longer provide a way to reverse it.
proof-of-stakeA mechanism in which validators lock up tokens to help secure the network and receive newly issued tokens as staking rewards.
proof-of-stake (PoS)A mechanism that typically combines randomness and stake size to select validators to propose or attest to blocks, without relying on computational power competition.
stakingParticipants deposit the network’s native token as collateral to qualify as PoS validators, creating an economic incentive to perform their duties honestly.
Priority feeA tip that users may voluntarily pay to validators to increase the likelihood that their transactions will be processed with priority.
SoundnessValidators should be able to reliably determine whether the prover actually possesses the relevant information, preventing false claims from passing verification.
Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA)A consensus mechanism that combines Proof of Stake with Proof of Authority, requiring validators to both hold or stake tokens and have a trusted reputation.
Proof of Authority (PoA)A consensus model in which validators are preselected based on their reputation; the key requirement for becoming a validator is a trusted reputation rather than staked assets.
Proof of Stake (PoS)A consensus mechanism that selects validators primarily based on the amount of cryptocurrency staked by participants.
Proof of Stake (PoS)A consensus mechanism in which validators stake assets on the network to participate in creating new blocks.
Surround votingThe act of validators voting for two conflicting blockchains or transaction sets in an attempt to split the network or manipulate the consensus process.
Permissioned blockchainA blockchain network that restricts transaction validators and the parties permitted to interact with ledger information, and is typically controlled by a single centralized entity.
Validator set approximatelyReceive the remaining gas fees and be responsible for distributing them daily to delegators and validators BNB, and include logic for processing gas fees according to the burn rate.
