Moonshot AI (Kimi)IPO In Talks to Settle, Claims in Old Dispute May Exceed 700000000 USD Reuters exclusively reported that executives at Moonshot AI are negotiating a settlement with former company Recurrent.ai and its investors over a dispute, hoping to resolve the nearly IPO-year arbitration dispute before its Hong Kong 2. It remains unclear whether the parties can reach an agreement.
The dispute involves Moonshot AI founder Yang Zhilin and CTO Zhang Yutao. They co-founded Recurrent.ai in 2016. According to legal letters seen by Reuters, Recurrent.ai and some investors allege that the two established Moonshot AI without board authorization and provided false information to investors in the original company. The letters also allege that servers containing key data for the large model were transferred without authorization and that some data was deleted. The shareholding arrangements of Moonshot AI President Zhang Yutong have also been questioned. Reuters was unable to independently verify these allegations. Yang Zhilin previously said that the venture had obtained the necessary approvals, while his attorney said the case lacked factual and legal grounds.
When Moonshot AI was founded, Recurrent.ai was allocated 9.5%of the initial equity. Recurrent.ai and some investors are now seeking compensation equivalent to 10.5%of Moonshot AI’s initial share capital. Informed sources estimated the potential value based on Moonshot AI’s valuation when it raised June this year at 30000000000 USD and said it could exceed 700000000 USD. Moonshot AI has secretly filed an application for a Hong Kong IPO. Informed sources believe the dispute will not directly block the listing for now, but if it remains unresolved, ownership of the shares and disclosure of information could still become obstacles.
