World launches banking version World ID suite, fully opens Zoom deepfake detection

BlockBeats News,October 19, the identity project World co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, announced the official launch of a World ID verification product for banks and financial institutions. This is the project's first customized suite for a specific industry, launched at the Money20/20 conference. The suite integrates products, including the identity wallet World ID app, which stores users' “proofs”;World ID for Zoom, which confirms whether the person on a call is a real human; and AI for Agents (AgentKit), which allows users to delegate identity credentials to World ID agents. Among them,World ID for Zoom is now fully available after completing limited testing in April. Its primary developer, Tools for Humanity, has also joined Zoom's independent software vendor program.

Regarding implementation partnerships, World said it is exploring applications of the technology in financial services with design partners including OpenExchange,Bain Capital, VanEck Funds, and Outtake, but did not disclose the names of banks specifically using the product or its pricing. World noted that as AI becomes more widespread, businesses increasingly need individuals to provide “proofs” to reduce fraud risk.

According to Deloitte's forecast, fraud losses in the United States driven by AI are expected to reach 2027 by 40000000000 USD. More than 18000000 people worldwide currently hold World’s “proof of human.” In addition, it launched the World Money self-custody application last month, covering 150 countries, and raised July through a WLD token sale in 52500000 USD.
