Jefferies Bullish on Year-End U.S. Stock Rally: Current Pullback May Be a Rare Entry Opportunity

BlockBeats News,October 17, Jefferies market intelligence analyst Dan Kirsche said that although technology stocks remain under pressure, market gains are broadening into more sectors. Combined with easing investor positioning pressure and declining U.S. Treasury yields, current market volatility may offer investors a rare window to establish positions, and he expects U.S. stocks November and December to perform strongly.

Kirsche noted that the Nasdaq Index has pulled back approximately from its high, while the S&P 5%equal-weight index has rebounded approximately from its low, 500 indicating that weak technology stocks have not prevented other sectors from strengthening. However, he expects the S&P 7%–8%Index could still retest its approximately 500-point 7600-day moving average.

Risks of a correction in the semiconductor sector have also not abated. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has declined for an eighth consecutive day and is set to record its longest losing streak since 100 2006.May analyst Jonathan Krinsky believes that the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index may see a short-term rebound after its consecutive declines, but still has room to fall further in the medium term. Kirsche, meanwhile, views BTIG points as the index's next key support level and expects the U.S. 11000-year Treasury yield may fall from approximately 10 to 5.13%, before declining further to 5.00%.
