Viewpoint: Memecoins are “single-cycle trades”; do not develop long-term holding dependence

PANews reported on September 23 that DeFi researcher Ignas posted that memecoins are “single-cycle trades”: investors can trade them but should not hold them long term. WIF was a representative memecoin of the previous cycle, but its price performance and market attention have both now declined significantly. Once a memecoin loses market attention, it often means the market trend has ended; FARTCOIN faces a similar situation. DOGE is one of the few exceptions to have spanned two cycles, but it is no longer a strong asset at present. The short life cycle of memecoins differs from that of Bitcoin, which can continuously generate new market narratives. Ignas also reminded investors not to develop long-term holding dependence on memecoins such as ZCAT and CASHCAT.
