Doubao Phone opens up cross-app automated operations, 153 apps refuse, with WeChat and Taobao both on the list

Beating AI News Flash reports that Doubao Phone Assistant announced that the public-comment period for the Screen Automated Operations Declaration Agreement (SAEP) has ended, and that it will gradually open up automated-operation permissions for third-party apps. The biggest change is that the rule has been reversed: previously, a third-party app had to actively consent before Doubao could simulate taps, input, and other operations; now, as long as an app has not explicitly refused, Doubao will gradually enable the relevant capabilities based on the app's risk level, allowing 30 to complete more cross-app tasks for users.

However, many mainstream apps have already explicitly said no. The latest official refusal list contains AI app entries, including 153 entries from Tencent and its affiliated ecosystem, including WeChat, 65, and Honor of Kings; Alibaba and its affiliated ecosystem account for QQ entries, including Taobao, Alipay, and DingTalk. Meituan, Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, DeepSeek, Kimi, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China are also on the list.

App operators do not have to choose between full access and a blanket ban. According to the 23 developer documentation, they can allow Doubao to assist with editing posts while prohibiting direct publication; they can also block screenshots on login pages and separately restrict operations such as check-ins, lucky draws, and content deletion. For high-risk actions involving payments, account authentication, and similar matters, the system may also require the user to confirm personally or directly refuse to execute them. Even after the public-comment period has ended, developers may declare their refusal at any time.
