Retail investors 1 Weekly net buying 9100000000 USD U.S. stocks, setting a near 15 year record,AI with semiconductors becoming a major magnet for funds

BlockBeats reported that October 14, Scott Rubner, head of equity and derivatives strategy at Citadel Securities, pointed out in his latest research report that retail investors made net purchases of U.S. stocks through the platform last week totaling 9100000000 USD, marking the largest single-week net purchase in nearly 15 years, with funds mainly flowing into AI-related stocks and ETF.

Among them, net purchases of semiconductor stocks totaled approximately 2600000000 USD,AI and net purchases of infrastructure-related stocks totaled approximately 2400000000 USD. Rubner said that this buying indicates stronger directional bets by retail investors, rather than an overall increase in trading activity: retail purchases exceeded sales by 2.7%, placing the directional skew at approximately the 1 th percentile over the past 90 years, while overall trading activity was only at the 42 th percentile.

Previously, Rubner had predicted that retail funds would re-enter the market in October. The latest data also show that despite continued concerns about a AI bubble, retail investors are still concentrating their purchases in AI and the semiconductor sector.
