Analysis: of the increase in U.S. Treasury yields is concentrated around employment data releases and Federal Reserve officials' speeches

PANews September 23 News: Research finds that, over the past 6 years, most of the increase in U.S. benchmark Treasury yields has been concentrated in the 3-day window around the release of nonfarm employment reports and speeches by key Federal Reserve officials. Economists including Paul Beaudry, a professor at the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia; Paolo Cavallino of the Bank for International Settlements; and Tim Willems of the Bank of England found that, since 2020 year August, approximately 10-year U.S. Treasury nominal yield increases of 90%occurred within just a few days around these events.
