Canton plans, as early as November 2 to launch tokenized U.S. stock trading, potentially becoming SEC the first case under the new rules

BlockBeats reports,October 30, Nasdaq-listed Canton Strategic Holdings (CNTN) announced that it has reached an agreement with the permissioned tokenized securities trading platform on the Canton Network TSV to offer trading in its common stock in an issuer-sponsored tokenized form, with the aim of launching as early as November 2, and said it could become the first case of compliant tokenized onshore U.S. equities under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's innovation exemption framework.

The tokenized shares will be issued by Fairmint, an on-chain transfer agent registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which will maintain ownership records. Holders will enjoy rights equivalent to those of Nasdaq shareholders. Trading is proposed to be provided through the Tradecraft protocol in an automated market maker format, enabling near շուրջ-the-clock trading and atomic settlement. Participants will be required to undergo identity verification and sanctions screening. The issuer-sponsored model can avoid the objections and notification procedures common in third-party tokenization.
