OneKey announces it will stop onboarding new distributors and replace hardware wallets free of charge for users who purchased through the CryptoBilis channel

BlockBeats news,October 12, OneKey founder Yishi stated in a post that recently, multiple users who purchased Ledger hardware wallets through CryptoBilis reported that their assets had been stolen. Ledger has confirmed that unauthorized hardware was implanted in the affected devices; the specific cause and scope of the impact remain under investigation. Since CryptoBilis also sold hardware wallets from multiple brands, including OneKey, OneKey has terminated its authorized distributor status.

In response to the incident, OneKey announced three measures: stopping the onboarding of new distributors effective immediately; comprehensively re-reviewing existing distributors, with authorization to be revoked for those whose operating entity or ultimate beneficial owner cannot be verified, and publishing a complete list of authorized distributors after the review is completed; and providing eligible users with free device replacements. Under the replacement policy,March 1, 2026 as of the date of the statement, users who purchased OneKey hardware wallets through CryptoBilis, regardless of model or whether the device has been activated or used, may apply for a free replacement. If the original model is in stock, it will be replaced with a brand-new device of the same model; if it is out of stock, the device will be upgraded free of charge. Devices will be shipped directly by the official OneKey store, and users do not need to return their old devices. Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2026, through OneKey's official website customer service or help.onekey.so, together with proof of purchase, the device model, and information on its usage.

OneKey also reminded users that devices that have not yet been activated should not be activated for the time being and that users should apply directly for a replacement; users who have used their devices and hold assets should treat the old recovery phrase as potentially compromised as a precaution, transfer their assets as soon as possible to a wallet created with a completely new recovery phrase, and never import the old recovery phrase into the new device. Yishi also stated that users who place orders through the OneKey official website are using an official direct-sales channel. OneKey customer service will never request a user's recovery phrase or PIN code; any request for this information on the grounds of replacement or verification may be a scam.
