The survey covered 5000 U.S. adults aged 18 and older. The results showed that Gen Z respondents began consciously building wealth on average at age 19—through activities such as investing, saving for retirement, or long-term saving—an average of 25 years earlier than millennials, 6 years earlier than Gen X, 29 years earlier than Generation X, 10 years earlier than baby boomers, 32 years earlier than baby boomers. Despite starting earlier, 13 of Gen Z respondents believe they have “done everything right” yet failed to achieve their expected financial position, 56%report difficulty making financial progress, and nearly half (62%) have paused or plan to pause investing.
