Alibaba has nearly people developing an e-commerce version of Qwen Office: planned for release before Double 11 but cannot yet place ads on behalf of merchants
Dongcha Beating AI News has learned that Alibaba is organizing nearly people to develop the first industry version of Qwen Office, specifically for e-commerce merchants, with plans to launch it before October 15 Tmall Double 11 pre-sales. The project began preparations this year,June and September entered intensive development, coordinated by CEO Chen Yusen of Qwen Office, with Huang Pibei (nickname: Lingpei) in charge. The new version is not an independent app, but a switch to “e-commerce operations” mode within Qwen Office.
The e-commerce version mainly covers scenarios including operations analysis, product management, creative-material production, and marketing promotion. Merchants can ask AI to aggregate data from multiple platforms and stores, identify operational anomalies, and make recommendations; they can also upload product, clothing, and model materials to create marketing images, then use AI spreadsheets to organize consumer reviews and to-do items. Taobao and Tmall data can be connected directly; Youzan and Keruyun are being integrated gradually, while other platforms require merchants to authorize login.
The e-commerce sector has contributed approximately 20%of Qwen Office’s paying users, making it the largest sector by share. Huang Pibei, the person in charge, previously led the incubation of AI e-commerce tool Huiwa. As of this year,September the product had 1500000 users and annual recurring revenue of approximately 50000000 yuan. This year, Alibaba March also launched Accio Work for cross-border operations, which can already help merchants select products, set up stores, and publish products.
However, Qwen Office’s e-commerce version is currently focused mainly on data analysis and content production. It cannot directly adjust merchants’ ad-spending plans, spend money to place ads automatically, or take over the operation of an entire store. Alibaba hopes this time to bring together operational tasks scattered across different tools and make Qwen Office the entry point for merchants’ daily work. Amid competition over functionality among general AI office products, Alibaba is attempting to leverage its own e-commerce data and merchant resources to compete for paying customers.
