Flowtica raises tens of millions of yuan: an e-ink display attached to the back of a phone generates to-dos directly during meetings
Beating AI Flash,AI hardware company Flowtica has completed a new round of financing worth tens of millions of yuan CNY, led by Vertex Ventures, with follow-on investment from existing shareholders including Source Code Capital, 5Y Capital, and Clear Water Bay Fund.
Meanwhile, the September IFA exhibition this year featured the AI e-ink display Verso, which has opened for deposit-based pre-orders and is planned to December begin delivering its first batch of products.
Verso is a magnetically attachable e-ink display 6.5 millimeters thick that can be attached to the back of a phone. According to the official introduction, users can press it once during a meeting to record audio, transcribe it in real time, and extract key points. Before the meeting ends, to-do items can appear on the screen. Users can mark important remarks by pressing a button, or ask AI questions directly, such as locating content discussed with a client last time or generating a draft follow-up email after a meeting.
Compared with PLAUD Note Pro and other AI recording cards, Verso's main distinction is not audio summarization, but placing meeting minutes, schedules, and to-dos directly on the hardware screen, eliminating the need to repeatedly open a mobile app. It also retrieves past communication records before a meeting and reminds users of unresolved matters. However, Flowtica has abandoned an always-on listening design: users must manually start recording, and the recording indicator light cannot be turned off.
Verso's pre-order price in the United States is 199 USD, with a regular list price of 299 USD. Pre-orders require an upfront 10 USD deposit, and the remaining balance is payable starting November 17. The device includes 3 months of an unlimited AI plan; continued use of the unlimited service thereafter requires an additional fee.
