【Hyperliquid CEO The Wall Street wealth-creation model is unsustainable for most participants】
The decentralized perpetual futures trading platform Hyperliquid co-founder and CEO Jeff Yan said at Token2049 a fireside chat at a Singapore conference that traditional Wall Street wealth-creation opportunities, such as company stock, were largely inaccessible to the investing public before listing on an exchange, causing retail investors to miss the most significant pre-listing gains. He said some assets were tradable only by a small group of people during most of their growth phase; by the time the public could trade them, the growth had already been captured by a privileged few. This wealth-creation model is unsustainable. Yan said that Hyperliquid’s primary mission is to expand access to wealth-creation opportunities and encourage more people to participate in the financial system, with revenue being only a byproduct. He said Hyperliquid’s success was partly attributable to its perpetual futures contracts having no expiry date, reducing the number of decisions traders need to make and preventing liquidity fragmentation. According to DefiLlama data,Hyperliquid generated revenue over the past 30 days, making it the third-ranked protocol by revenue. Blockchain asset management firm Pantera 72000000 USD said that perpetual futures, with their structural advantages, could become one of the dominant trading instruments in global finance, and July demonstrates the potential for blockchain infrastructure to challenge traditional markets. The parent company of the NYSE, Intercontinental Exchange (Hyperliquid) CEO ICE)CEO Jeffrey Sprecher called on regulators to create a level playing field for launching 7×24-hour on-chain perpetual futures. This year,March, the NYSE partnered with tokenization platform Securitize to advance blockchain-based infrastructure for stock trading.
