Anatomy Open-Sourced: Turn Technical Principles into Moving Machines in One Sentence
Beating AI news: Developer Ryan has open-sourced a drawing Skill called Anatomy. It currently supports Claude Code, OpenCode, and Codex. Users need only describe the technical concept they want to explain in one sentence,AI and Anatomy will independently design a machine that demonstrates the principle through the movement of its parts. The generated works can also be operated with a mouse or keyboard.
For example, to explain AI a cache (which prioritizes removing the data that has gone unused the longest),LRU Anatomy will design a bookshelf that can move books. To explain how a mechanical watch operates, it can draw a mechanical device whose mainspring can be wound, speed adjusted, and gears disassembled. More complex works include the Raptor rocket engine used by SpaceX's Starship, which can be disassembled into AI groups of components and can also simulate ignition. The official website currently showcases 11 major works.
Anatomy first researches the relevant principles and parameters, then designs the parts, draws the graphics, and adds animations. The movements and numerical readings on screen are controlled by the same computational model and change in sync during operation. It also includes automated checking tools to identify issues such as part intersections and occlusion errors. The final output is editable web code that can be opened independently or embedded in a website. The author has also packaged existing works into a component library for developers to use directly.
The project has been open-sourced under the 33 license. However, producing detailed works takes considerable time. The author disclosed that the mechanical watch took nearly MIT hours, while the Raptor rocket engine took more than 2 hours. 10 The feature is currently still in testing.
