【Standard Chartered-backed Anchorpoint says it is not rushing to launch a retail Hong Kong dollar stablecoin】

The remarks came as HSBC (HSBC) launched the Hong Kong dollar stablecoin RedCoin for 3300000 users of its PayMe app on Friday. Anchorpoint stems from a partnership among Standard Chartered, Animoca Brands, and telecommunications operator HKT; the partnership was announced in 2025 February year, and the three parties had previously jointly participated in Hong Kong’s stablecoin issuer sandbox in 2024 July year. Animoca is responsible for providing blockchain expertise and industry networks to the joint venture and promoting the stablecoin’s application within the Web3 ecosystem.
