Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio: The United States may experience a debt crisis within 3 years

BlockBeats reported,October 6, Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio warned in an interview with Bloomberg that, as debt interest expenses continue to crowd out other federal government budget items, the United States may face a debt crisis within the next 3 years.

Dalio noted that the U.S. government generates approximately 5500000000000 USD in annual revenue, spends approximately 7500000000000 USD, and runs a fiscal deficit of nearly 2000000000000 USD. Currently, the U.S. federal government's annual interest expense is approximately 1000000000000 USD. Including maturing debt requiring refinancing, total annual debt servicing and refinancing needs amount to approximately 11000000000000 USD.

Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury yields have continued to rise, with the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield closing at October 5 and the 5.31%,30-year yield reaching 5.66%, further increasing pressure on government financing.

Dalio recommended reducing spending, increasing tax revenue, and lowering interest rates to reduce the fiscal deficit as a share of GDP from approximately 6%to 3%. In terms of asset allocation, he previously recommended allocating 10%to 15%of a portfolio to gold, with Bitcoin accounting for only a small proportion.
