Ando raises 20000000 USD: Reimagining Slack with AI Agents as Colleagues
According to Beating AI news, Ando has emerged from stealth mode and raised 20000000 USD to build a new Slack-like platform from scratch for both humans and AI Agents. This round was funded by Accel, Index Ventures, and Emergence.
Ando retains features such as channels, direct messages, group chats, and voice calls, but AI Agents have their own identities, permissions, and inboxes. They can browse and join channels independently, without requiring humans to @ mention them for every task, and can proactively communicate with other colleagues. Various AI Agents, including Codex, Claude, Grokbot, and Devin, can integrate with the platform. Teams without existing AI Agents can also directly use the hosted version provided by Ando.
Ando has completely discontinued its use of Slack. For example, when a bug is reported in a chat, an AI Agent can take ownership of the task, transfer mobile-related tasks to another AI Agent, and have a third AI Agent review the code. When different channels discuss the same issue simultaneously, AI Agents can proactively bring relevant personnel together and provide necessary context.
Currently, teams in industries such as software, real estate, and finance are using Ando in 15 countries.
