CSRC: Remain highly vigilant against new risk points such as offshore leveraged products linked to individual A-share stocks; measures will be introduced to improve penalty rules for unlawful share reductions

PANews October 19 According to reports, Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), stated at 2026 the opening ceremony of the Financial Street Forum Annual Conference that linkages and synchronized movements across global markets have become markedly stronger, with greater interconnected volatility among equity, bond, foreign-exchange, and other markets. Risk transmission across borders, markets, and industries warrants close vigilance. New risk points, such as offshore leveraged products linked to individual A-share stocks, should be watched closely. Wu said that measures will be introduced in the near term, including establishing an operational monitoring center for the fund industry; issuing opinions on the safe and compliant application of artificial intelligence in the securities and futures industry; improving penalty rules for unlawful share reductions; and formulating guiding opinions on advance compensation in the securities market. Wu also said that the CSRC will accelerate the introduction of regulations on the supervision of listed companies, improve institutional mechanisms for corporate governance, information disclosure, and investor protection, and foster and expand a cohort of high-quality listed companies. It will also intensify efforts to advance high-quality development actions for securities firms and support industry mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and subsequent integration.
