Glassnode co-founder: Approximately 6260000 public keys have been exposed, accounting for 31.2%BlockBeats news,October 9, Glassnode co-founder Rafael stated in a post that approximately 6260000 public keys are currently publicly visible on-chain, accounting for 31.2%. To move these to addresses whose public keys have not yet been exposed and are identified only by their hashes, at least the same amount of would need to be transferred. This proportion has risen from 2021 at the beginning of 24.8%to its current level, returning to approximately the level seen around 2016. Of these, approximately 4330000 had their public keys exposed due to address reuse; the relevant addresses had previously processed outgoing transactions. Transferring these to new addresses would eliminate this type of exposure. In addition, approximately 1940000 had their public keys exposed due to script types, of which 1710000 belong to P2PK addresses, including approximately 1100000 attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto, while approximately 222000 are held in Taproot addresses.

Among the held by exchanges, the public keys corresponding to approximately 1790000 have been exposed. Exposure ratios vary significantly across exchanges:Coinbase at 10%,Bitfinex at 100%. Among the top 15 exchanges by holdings, 7 have a relevant ratio above 99%. Among other institutions, approximately 375000 of Fidelity's 2%holdings have exposed public keys; the holdings of the US, UK, and El Salvador governments all have a ratio of 0%. The corresponding ratio is 49%for Grayscale, 99%for Revolut, and 100%for Robinhood.

Compared with the data released in May this year, the amount of with exposed public keys has increased by 222000, while the total supply increased by only 64000 over the same period. Exchange holdings contributed 123000 of the increase. Currently, approximately 57%of the held by exchanges has exposed public keys, higher than the May of 55%and the 2021 of 39%at the beginning of the year. It should be noted that the above ratios reflect address usage and do not constitute a risk ranking of the relevant platforms or assets, nor do they represent an assessment of their security.
