NetEase UU Remote AI Agent opens the door wide: third-party apps can invoke computer remote control with one tap
Beating AI breaking news, NetEase UU Remote has published its third-party app integration protocol on GitHub, allowing developers to add computer remote-control entry points to their own iOS and Android applications. For example, a AI coding assistant could add a “Connect to work computer” button. When users tap it for the first time, they will be redirected to UU Remote to select and bind their own Windows or Mac computer. Subsequent taps on the button can directly initiate remote control, without repeatedly searching for the device.
Remote control supports full-screen and picture-in-picture modes. Users can operate their computers through UU Remote’s floating window while using other apps on their phones. For example, after leaving home, if they want to check whether Claude Code or Codex on their Mac has completed a task, they can invoke remote control directly from a third-party app. Developers can also obtain the connection result in floating-window mode to determine whether the device is offline or the connection failed.
What has been opened this time is a cross-app invocation protocol, not the remote-control engine source code or an interface for AI to operate computers automatically. Third-party apps must still call the installed UU Remote client; the actual remote control is provided by NetEase. Currently, controlled devices support only Windows and macOS, and the mobile device must use UU Remote 4.42.0 or later.
