Yingshi Jufeng’s Tim gives away iPhones on X,Web3 airdrop-hunting studios may be the biggest winners

BlockBeats reported that,October 26, the well-known Chinese self-media account “Yingshi Jufeng” recently expanded to the X platform overseas. As its first promotional campaign since launching there, Yingshi Jufeng offered iPhones in an activity requiring users to follow, repost, and like related posts. As of press time, the related promotional video had reached 4870000 views, while the numbers of likes and reposts both exceeded 100000, and the number of followers on Tim Pan’s account quickly rose to 302000. Judging from the exposure, engagement, and follower-growth figures, the campaign’s overseas debut achieved direct results.

However, while the traffic materialized, the winner list prompted another layer of discussion.

According to BlockBeats’ statistics, among the winning accounts selected by Grok for the campaign, 100 winning accounts, nearly 7 of the accounts had fewer than 100. Many accounts had handles made up of random character combinations, which are generally considered a characteristic of bulk registration. In addition, at least 20 accounts had posted tweets related to crypto airdrop farming,Web3 airdrops, and NFT.

BlockBeats believes that this result is not surprising. From the NFT boom, to subsequent project airdrops, and then to the period when “mouth farming” became widespread, X accounts have always been the most basic interaction tool for Web3 airdrop-hunting studios. Once these studios scale up the number of X accounts, giveaways originally aimed at ordinary users become low-cost, high-odds probability games.

It should be noted that Yingshi Jufeng had previously demonstrated the ability of similar campaigns to generate exposure on domestic platforms. Its related giveaway held on Bilibili this year September received more than 2200000 reposts and likes. This shows that the traffic itself is not a problem, but the X ecosystem is clearly more complex.
