🇨🇳 I’ve seen some discussion about the scale of hacker attacks, such as why the impact on Bitcoin prices was so small, etc. 👇6300000000 USD based on USD the maximum loss calculated in, but this is not the case when calculated in Bitcoin. MtGox lost 650000 Bitcoin!
Other important data points to consider:
The percentage of Bitcoin holdings relative to the total Bitcoin supply, i.e., the market impact. MtGox once again performed remarkably in this regard, losing more than 5%.
The number of affected users and the proportion of user assets. MtGox (the largest centralized exchange at the time) and FTX(also not small in scale) affected almost 100%of users and their assets.
Most importantly: who was affected? Did the platform bear full responsibility? (Only one victim), as in the cases of the two recent centralized exchange incidents and Binance.
Clearly, this remains a major disaster for the entire industry, Binance (and me). Although it was painful, we got through it.
Most importantly, we protected our users.

$6.3 billion is the biggest in USD terms, but not in BTC terms. MtGox was 650,000 BTC!
Other important numbers to consider:
% of bitcoin (in relation to BTC total supply), ie, market impact. MtGox is big there again at 5%+.
Number of users impacted, and % of user assets impacted. MtGox (the largest CEX at the time) and FTX (not small) were all near 100% of users and their asseets.
Most important: Who is impacted? Does the platform cover it all? (only one victim), as in recent two CEX cases and Binance.
Obviously, still a major disaster for the industry, Binance (and me). It hurts, but we survive.
Most importantly, we protect our users.
