Azoma raises funding 11200000 USD: helping L’Oréal and Unilever capture GEO, competing for AI shopping recommendation slots

Beating AI brief,GEO startup Azoma has completed 11200000 USD Series A funding, led by Puma Growth Partners. Its customers include L’Oréal, Unilever, Mars, and Reckitt.

In the past, brands paid for SEO to compete for search-result rankings. Now, when consumers directly ask AI“Which shampoo is worth buying?”, brands must compete to appear on AI recommendation lists. Azoma simulates questions from different consumers, tracks how often brands are recommended, their competitors, and cited sources, and then optimizes content on product-detail pages, official websites, YouTube, Reddit, and other platforms.

Azoma analyzed 38000000 items of AI citations and found that Gemini had 51.9%of citations from media content, while Google AI Overviews had only 7.6%. This means different AI platforms require different GEO strategies.

The company said that over the past 1 years, revenue grew by nearly 10 times, while the team expanded from 12 people to 40 people. The new funding will be used to cover more AI shopping agents and track whether recommendation exposure actually converts into sales.
