Ant open-sources a design model: purpose-built for UI posters, with generated designs that can be deconstructed into layers for further editing
Dongcha Beating AI news flash: Ant’s Bailing (inclusionAI) open-sources Ming-Image-0.1-Design series, including two models. Design specializes in generating UIs, Dashboards, infographics, and posters; Layer decomposes an already generated design image into transparent layers that can be moved, replaced, and modified individually. Both models are released under the MIT license.
Design supports structured prompts of up to tokens, enabling a complete page to be created in one pass, and can directly generate transparent-background RGBA assets. Layer can decompose a design image into as many as 2 to 9 layers, including text, cards, the main subject, and the background, then reassemble them into the original image.
Ant has also open-sourced Design Skill and PowerPoint Skill. The former connects design generation, asset decomposition, and frontend Coding; the latter can restore a flattened image into a PowerPoint that allows its text, images, and layout to be edited further.
In Artificial Analysis’s UI/UX Design open-weights sub-ranking, Ming-Image-0.1-Design ranked first with a score of 1082 Elo The models are now available on OpenRouter and can be used for free.
