⚡️Circle plans to expand into approximately 50 emerging markets, saying stablecoins are entering a phase of mainstream scale

According to BlockBeats,October 16,Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said that demand for stablecoins has grown significantly in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, and that the company plans to expand into approximately 50 emerging and developing markets. He said the industry is at an inflection point, “moving from the early-adopter phase of blockchain technology into a phase of mainstream scale.” Currently,USDC has a circulating supply of approximately 72600000000 USD, accounting for roughly one-quarter of the stablecoin market, while Tether’s USDT accounts for nearly 60%. Circle has agreed to acquire Singaporean payments company Tazapay for 400000000 USD, gaining access to local banking and payment networks in 100 markets, which will help it expand in regions traditionally dominated by USDT.

Circle also launched Arc, a blockchain designed specifically for payments and financial transactions, and received approval for a U.S. federal trust bank in July. Allaire said clearer regulation, including the U.S.GENIUS Act, is encouraging broader adoption; banks are also developing their own digital currencies, which he welcomed. “The banking industry was long successful in keeping others out. I do not think they are in charge anymore; innovators are having their moment.” He also noted that AI agents’ use of USDC is growing, with these software programs able to independently make small payments for information and online services.
