Sui establish a development team AI business division, formerly CEO will transition to CTO and be responsible for AI business

BlockBeats reports that October 17,Sui development team Mysten Labs CEO Evan Cheng announced that the company will formally establish a AI business division focused on agent trust products and native AI infrastructure development. At the same time,Mysten Labs President Kevin Boon will take over as CEO, while Evan Cheng will transition to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and lead the AI business division.

Evan Cheng stated that as AI agents begin autonomously executing tasks such as trading, payments, negotiations, and code development, ensuring that agents act within their authorization, avoiding unintended harm, and resolving questions of liability among different participants have become key challenges for the industry's development.Mysten Labs plans to build related products based on Sui and Walrus to help individuals and enterprises constrain agent behavior and enable agents to safely execute tasks without real-time human intervention.

In addition,Mysten Labs recently announced a partnership with Google Cloud to develop a Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA) to provide AI agents with an evidence layer, using tamper-resistant records to help resolve disputes in cross-organizational collaboration. Evan Cheng believes that AI agent-driven commercial activity has enormous potential, but trust mechanisms and incentive alignment remain the main obstacles to its large-scale development.
